How Much Does Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda Cost?

Planning your gorilla trekking experience starts with understanding what your investment supports — not just your journey, but the protection of one of the world's most extraordinary species.

Gorilla Permit: $1,500 per person

This official permit grants you the opportunity to visit a habituated gorilla family in Volcanoes National Park. More importantly, your permit plays a direct role in:

  • Mountain gorilla conservation and habitat protection
  • Sustainable park management and anti-poaching efforts
  • Community development through revenue-sharing programs
  • Improving livelihoods for communities living around the park

A portion of the permit fee is reinvested into local communities — supporting schools, healthcare, and infrastructure — ensuring that conservation benefits both wildlife and people.
