Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Musanze

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport (or pickup from your Kigali hotel), begin your journey through the rolling hills of the Rwandan countryside. Arrive in Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park, for an evening of rest.

Overnight: Volcanoes National Park

Day 2: Golden Monkey Trek & Transfer to Uganda

After breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for briefing, then enter the forest to track the endangered golden monkeys. These active primates are found in the bamboo forests at the base of the volcanoes. After lunch, drive to the Rwanda–Uganda border, complete customs formalities, and proceed to Kisoro.

Overnight: Mgahinga National Park

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking & Return to Kigali

Enter Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for a briefing before trekking the volcanic slopes in search of the mountain gorillas. Spend one unforgettable hour observing the group in their natural habitat. Following the trek, transfer back across the border to Rwanda for your drop-off in Kigali or transfer to the airport.

4-Day Double Gorilla Trekking Safari (Uganda)

Designed for the true wildlife enthusiast — this itinerary offers two separate opportunities to track mountain gorillas. By visiting different sectors or families, guests gain a deeper understanding of gorilla behaviour and enjoy varied photographic opportunities.

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Bwindi

Pickup from Kigali and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Cyanika border. The drive offers spectacular views of the terraced hillsides and the majestic Virunga volcanoes.

Overnight: Bwindi National Park

Day 2: First Gorilla Trekking Experience

After a morning briefing, head into the rainforest with expert rangers. Once the gorillas are located, spend an hour observing their social interactions. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon at the lodge or a walk through the local community.

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast re-enter the park for a second trek, often in a different sector or with a different gorilla family. This second encounter allows for more relaxed observation and a chance to appreciate the different terrains of the park.

6-Day Gorilla Trekking & Queen Elizabeth National Park

This safari balances the intimacy of forest trekking with the classic grandeur of the African savannah. Experience the mountain gorillas of Bwindi before heading to the plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park for lions, elephants, and hippos.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi

Arrival in Kigali and transfer across the border to the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
